COMING SOON!! We saw YOUNG AT HEART this spring at a theatre owners convention. It opens with a 80 something lady screaming and it takes a while to realize she's in the middle of the Clash "Should I stay or should I go?!" until the band opens up with her and there's this chorus where anyone under 70 is the youngster in the group. The documentary is about a now world famous, well traveled, band of well aged singers covering modern rock like Talking Heads, Clash, and much more. And they rock. Backed up by a puppyish 50 something band, the music alone is worth the price of admission. To hear them sing Bob Dylan's "Forever Young" to a audience of prisoners is heart stopping stuff. The film follows individuals and the group as they prepare for their seasons opening performance. Along the way we see them as youngsters, find out about their earlier lives, and share the pains and thrills of rocking when you're 85. It's exhilarating and at times deeply sad; old age is not for sissies. I hope everyone will see this film. Who should see it: fans of film, anyone who is getting older day by day, and everyone who wants to be relevant. It's one of the best films of the year.
